Lake Information

Main Lake - Willow Lake

The main lake is carved from clay and sand. It is approximately. 2 hectares in size (3 football pitches) and features unusual shaped granite rock which is a feature of the area. This lake is fed by natural springs, therefore although the water drops during the summer period, it does not suffer from the droughts that affect many waters. The lake also feeds the local stream passing through nearby hamlets. It is not a deep water with depths ranging from ten feet (3 metres) to two feet (0.75 metres). 

Fishing may take place from any of the lake banks. Fish comprise mainly of carp up to 30lb and include common, mirror and crucian carp, roach, rudd and tench can also be found in the main lake which is classed as a general all round fishing venue for fishermen and women of all types and experience. 

Willow  lake is registered as a closed water and No Permit is required to fish. Night Fishing permitted (see fishing rules)

 

Starter Ponds

In addition to the main lake are two starter ponds which are also used to develop our new stock. Containing much smaller fish, these ponds are ideal for children or those that are new to fishing or enjoy pole fishing. 

Orchard View Pond  - This pond contains our smaller size fish stock mainly comprising of roach, rudd, and gudgeon.

Oak View Pond - This pond contains our medium size fish comprising of Crucian and mirror carp, small tench ,roach and rudd which are waiting to be introduced to the main lake. 

 

Fishing Rules

We would ask you to respect our fishing rules. They are in place for the protection of the fish and the surrounding environment

  1. Maximum of two rods per person at any time
  2. Rods should NEVER be left unattended.
  3. Barbless Hooks ONLY. (available to purchase on site)
  4. No Keepnets (Competition events only)
  5. Unhooking mats and landing nets are provided and to be used at ALL times.
  6. No fires (French legal requirement)– Please use the barbecue areas provided
  7. Removal or introduction of fish from the ponds into the main lake is strictly prohibited.
  8. NO Sacking.
  9. No Wire traces to be used.
  10. Minimum of 10lb breaking strain line
  11. Respect all wildlife – wildlife has total priority around the lake.
  12. Please do not damage any vegetation – look after the trees and plants.
  13. Night fishing is permitted (please respect any other visitors during their stay with us).
  14. A maximum of 6 anglers allowed to fish. (except society or match events)
  15. STRICTLY NO PEANUTS OR PARTICLES
  16. STRICTLY NO BRAID MAINLINE
  17. PLEASE REMOVE ALL RUBBISH FROM BANK INCLUDING CIGARETTES BUTTS
